The official language of Fries land is Dutch but about half of their population speaks both Dutch and Frisian.
Frisian is a Germanic language and is imilar to both Dutch and English. This language is usually spoken only at home and Dutch is spoken at work or other places. A hybrid language of the two called "town Frisian" is also spoken. However most Netherlanders can speak or understand English, French, and German. Which are all taught at secondary schools.
